A Better World - 12/24/09

Download | Duration: 00:00:00

Today's guest is a student of the writers Charles Gaines and Kurt Vonnegut, Reverand Billy Talen, who moved to New York City in 1994 and joined the sidewalk preachers of Times Square, specializing in exorcisms of sweatshop companies, and opposing the gentrification of neighborhoods as pastor of the Church of Life. After shopping Rev. Billy has produced retail interventions, fabulous revivals, films, and a TV show, helping people, through play, song, dance, and humor, come to see how the holidays have been hijacked by commercial interests, its the true spirit marginalized under the weight of gifts and consumerism being a disease of excess that we would all benefit from seeing more clearly. Tune in to hear Mitchell and Rev. Billy banter about these critical matters yet in a light-hearted way. For more, go to: www.revbilly.com
